Viva Bene St. Peters will host April 16 grand opening of nation’s first 55+ active adult rental community with integrated preventive healthcare
St. Louis, St. Charles and Farmington, MO-IL - March 27, 2025 – Area residents are invited to the grand opening of Viva Bene St. Peters, a new living community for adults age 55+ that uniquely blends price-attainable housing with resort-style wellness amenities and preventive healthcare services. The event is Wednesday, April 16 from 4 to 7 pm at 100 Viva Bene Circle located just off St. Peters Centre Boulevard which connects to Mexico Road and Interstate 70.
The fun-for-all-ages event will offer tours, live music, entertainment, prizes, giveaways and exclusive offers. A ribbon cutting is slated for 4:30 pm at this new active adult property.
“Our Viva Bene model ushers in a new era of living for individuals aged 55-plus seeking options to traditional senior living, especially more affordably priced alternatives that cater to active, wellness-minded individuals,” said Laurie Schultz, Viva Bene principal and co-founder. “We thank all of those who worked enthusiastically with us to bring forth a community where vibrant boomers can live independently, engage socially, and manage health more proactively – without worrying about excessive costs.”
Viva Bene’s key features include:
· Holistic Wellness Hub: A dedicated space featuring fitness programs, yoga and meditation classes, healthy cooking workshops, and other wellness-focused offerings.
· Community-Centered Living: Quiet workspace niches and shared gather areas to support a dynamic social atmosphere with outdoor amenities (pool, pickleball court, and picnic areas) plus thoughtfully curated events and clubs
· Financially Attainable Housing: One-bedroom apartments start at just over $1,600 per month, well below the cost of traditional senior housing options. Garage parking and additional storage are the only add-on fees aside from utilities.
· Personalized Preventive Healthcare: Viva Bene has a third-party collaboration with Sevi Health which focuses on helping older adults live healthier, more fulfilling lives. Residents can opt to receive care navigation and chronic care management service and also access primary care from this medical practice. Sevi Health engages directly with patients and bills most insurance providers including Medicare Advantage plans.
Viva Bene St. Peters is the first active adult rental property west of the Mississippi in the greater St. Louis area. In the three months since its soft opening, the community is nearly 50% leased.
Scott Tate, President & CEO, St. Charles Regional Chamber said, “We were fascinated when we first learned about this innovative apartment concept, and we’re thrilled to be the first municipal area in the United States to deliver this attainably priced senior housing option. We congratulate the Viva Bene team on this exciting milestone and look forward to the positive impact they will have in our region.”
According to Schultz, care navigators (clinical concierges) help residents traverse healthcare system complexities and embrace a more proactive approach to health. “Much of Sevi’s focus is to identify, address and reduce risks associated with chronic conditions,” she said. “If we are going to improve quality of life and save real dollars in the overall healthcare system, we must promote health among individuals as they enter the medical risk pool rather than waiting until later when many have multiple chronic conditions and require assistance with daily living. Our environment is designed to reduce health decline, so residents can thrive and ultimately live longer, happier lives.”
Missouri Economic Research and Information Center data projects Missouri’s senior population to increase 87%, to 1.4 million, between 2000 and 2030. “In five years, more than one-fifth of our state residents will be over 65,” Tate stated. “Viva Bene represents true innovation in senior housing, something woefully needed as baby boomers continue to age and the country faces projected shortfalls in midmarket-priced housing.”
A large number of these individuals fall into the “forgotten middle,” those who don’t qualify for subsidized housing but can’t afford traditional senior living options, Schultz added.
Viva Bene is partnered with Greystar, the nation’s largest operator of apartments, to manage Viva Bene St. Peters. A nationally recognized leader in active adult, Greystar ensures its signature lifestyle programming includes a robust activities calendar to help residents stay physically, mentally, and socially engaged.
